I believe, based on his words and actions before, during, and after the campaign and since his inauguration, that the idiot in the White House - Donald J Trump - is mentally unstable.

Trump suffers acutely from Narcissistic Personality Disorder.  This mental disorder makes him incapable of intelligent and rational thought or action, incapable of dealing with criticism and challenges like a mature adult, and prevents him from competently discharging his duties as President of the United States.

Trump clearly displays all the symptoms of this disorder, which, according to the Mayo Clinic, include:

• Having an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
• Expecting to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it.
• Exaggerating your achievements and talents.
• Requiring constant admiration.
• Having an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others.

A person suffering from this mental disorder has “trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism”.  Trump clearly reacts with rage or contempt and belittles anyone who disagrees with or criticizes him.

John D Gartner, a practicing psychotherapist who taught psychiatric residents at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, has publicly stated that “Donald Trump is dangerously mentally ill and temperamentally incapable of being President.”  Gartner believes Trump has “Malignant Narcissism”, a syndrome characterized by a narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial features, paranoid traits, an absence of conscience, a psychological need for power, and a sense of grandiosity.

I feel very strongly that his mental disability makes Trump a disaster waiting to happen, and truly fear for the future of the United States and the world if he is permitted to remain President.  I urge Vice President Pence, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Congress to work together to remove Trump from office for mental incompetence under Section 4 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution before it is too late.

The Republican Party does not need Trump.  The longer Trump remains in office the more damage his mentally unstable behavior will do to the Republican Party, as well as to the country and the world. If he remains for the full four years of his term it is likely that the Republicans will lose not only the Presidency but also its current majority in both houses of Congress in 2020.

The Republican Party currently controls the House, the Senate, and the White House. Although they do not actually “control” the White House – it is impossible to “control” Trump. While being the ultimate narcissist he can be easily played, but he is truly unstable and unpredictable.

America, the world, and the Republican Party will be better off if Trump is removed from office. With Trump gone the Republican Party will have Mike Pence, a more “normal” and “legitimate” Party loyalist, as President (although I do oppose Pence’s extreme “evangelical” political philosophy and agenda, anyone is better than the current idiot), and their continued majority in Congress will be more secure.

And, most important, America will be safe, and can go back to being great again!
